I can tell you that this move sure took me by surprise. The WWF usually
much more careful with intellectual issues like this, considering that
virtually every name/personality trait/costume they put on tv is carefully
copyrighted, and they're involved with roughly 4 million lawsuits at any
given time.

Stupid overacting is the point of the show. If it was done in a serious
manner it wouldn't mesh with the mostly unrealistic action inside the ring.
And if the mostly unrealistic action was more serious, it just wouldn't be
as interesting, and wouldn't draw the millions of fans, and have tons of
licenses and make big bucks for the companies involved. <g>
(And hey, it helps you be productive. Me too - it's great inspiration for
the wrestling game I'm writing. ;) )
