I doubt this will happen much, but that was expected. The 'network effect'
theory that the d20 Brand is based on was designed to let third parties play
in Wizards' pool, not to leverage the D&D brand into other people's existing
system. The idea is that the d20 System network has the largest player
base, so it is advantageous for third parties to tap into it. The only
benefit Wizards sees is that there are fewer competing systems, so it brings
more people into the fold, so to speak.
The gamers who play games that aren't d20 will become an even smaller
minority as the network effect takes over and game publishers move to
capitalize on the size of the d20 System player base (that's the theory
anyway). I'm not saying I agree or disagree, I'm just explaining how I see
it.
