My advice from before stands. You will save yourself a large about of time and worry if you just look up the stuff you want in the original sources. If you cannot decide if the OGC declaration in a book is accurate, call the company to task once. If you that gets you a definitive answer, great! Otherwise, either convince the original sources to sue that company or just use the original sources in your work. If the company feels it is right then it will not change unless ordered to do so by a court. If this bothers you, find some way to get that court order.
