OK, thanks. I did not realize 3.4 was the default on the system. I’ll try
4.1, and 4.4 if it does not.

We certainly don't support gcc 3.4!!!

You'll need to check gcc 4.1, it might work?

Both of those are very old (early 2006). I don't think we claim compatibility
with anything older than gcc 4.4.

And starting with OIIO 1.7 (the current master), we assume that 4.8 is the
minimum, although we have not yet purposely broken it for older versions, but
we could at any time.

Hi Larry,

Now that you are ask… it seems that cmake finds gcc 3.4.6 altough gcc 4.1 is
also installed. Oiio version is 1.6.15. Should I force cmake to use gcc 4.1?

Many thanks!

Which compiler and version? (Also, which OIIO version?)

Hello,

I tried to build oiio on RHEL 4.8 on an Opteron 64 bit platform but I get the
error « No atomics on this platform » when building
OpenImageIO_Util.dir/errorhandler.cpp. Do anyone know what the issue could be?
