If you want to know the file format version... there is currently not a way to
retrieve that, but I can certainly add it! It's really easy, I will do it for
you today.
But if you want to know which specific version of the library wrote the file, I
think there is no reliable way to tell. The file format version only changes
infrequently when there are real compatibility breaks, and also we rig the
library so that even newer software will write the old format if you don't
happen to be using any features that strictly require the new format.
