If you think this will benefit others in the future, then add this small feature. But if not, don't take the time (yet); I think I'll skip the EXR file version when extracting the EXR properties/metadata -- at least for now, because I'm tied on OIIO RB 2.1 for the moment.

If you want to know the file format version... there is currently not a way to retrieve that, but I can certainly add it! It's really easy, I will do it for you today. But if you want to know which specific version of the library wrote the file, I think there is no reliable way to tell.
