There are answers to this question embedded in others' responses, but just to be explict, Wikipedia articles (and thus DBpedia entries) are almost always about works, not editions. Freebase has separate identifiers for works (ie Books) and editions (ie Book Editions). LibraryThing has certainly talked about adding works, if they don't have them today. Agreed that ISBN and ASIN are edition level identifiers, however.
