I just checked the assembly manual and it looks straightforward. There are two 
holes in the top of the frame and one through the side. That is where an RPO 
bracket was installed. The bracket essentially provides a threaded stud to 
mount the shock on and its about even with the top of the frame.

  Casey, I'll probably just continue to fab a mount and see how it works out. I 
think I see how they (GM) intentioned the mount and it should be pretty easy to 
duplicate once all the measurements are taken. With the straight rear frame 
rails of the 3800, it looks like it will require an unusually short shock 
absorber to utilize the axles lower mounts. Thanks for the input and I'll post 
results later when I make some progress.
