I ran an 8V battery for several years. worked great but had to jack up the
voltage regulator, to make it charge the battery.

I was going to drive my '51 3600 to work yesterday, and the 6V that was in
the truck when I bought it apparently bought it. I had a guy tell me today that
I should put in an 8V battery, as it will crank the motor just a little faster
when starting, and won't do any damage to anything electrical. Does this guy
know what he's talking about?
