LOL ! . Brake drums sticking in place (they actually rust) is endemic , not just on Big 'Bolts .
Anyways , remove the wheel and screw the lug nuts back on the threads , reversed 180° just until they're flush with the studs then grab your BFH and *WHACK* the brake drum between the studs ~ the reversed , flush nuts are for when you miss (you will) and glance off the threaded studs . The blows you give it , going 'round and 'round between the studs , will both loosen the rust and help the penetrant to wick it's way in , the harmonic vibrations assist in this . Keep at it , sooner or later the drum will come a bit loose and you'll be able to slide it off . For those with 6 lugs , Chevs of The 40's in Wa. State has the correct thin paper gaskets that prevent this . -Nate Dazysnow wrote : > > While waiting on plug wires from whoever they call themselves, it occurred to > me it don't matter if it goes or not if it won't stop. with that in mind I > proceeded to pull the left rear duals off Ole Red and.....the brake drums are > stuck.
