Ok, something really odd is going on. After struggling all day on friday to try and diagnose this problem I came in yesterday and magically upgrades started working the way I expected (without any code changes in my workspace). After building sparc and x86 archives fresh last night, today upgrades fail again. I've tried to break down the onu script manually. I have an x86 desktop running build 143 that I'm trying to update to my ON bits (which are based on build 146). When I get as far as doing the image update that onu would do, I see: Solver: [ Variables: 2553 Clauses: 21466 Iterations: 8 State: Succeeded] Timings: [phase 1: 1.268, phase 2: 0.037, phase 3: 7.855, phase 4: 2.330, phase 5: 0.008] Maintained incorporations: None Package version changes: pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T063011Z -> pkg://on-nightly/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100803T000214Z pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T091233Z -> pkg://on-nightly/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100803T000224Z pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T094159Z -> pkg://on-nightly/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100803T000227Z pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T063614Z -> pkg://on-nightly/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100803T000214Z pkg://opensolaris.org/developer/build/[email protected],5.11-0.143:20100706T035323Z -> pkg://on-nightly/developer/build/[email protected],5.11-0.146:20100803T000233Z pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T101701Z -> pkg://on-nightly/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100803T000230Z pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T085223Z -> None pkg://extra/web/firefox/plugin/[email protected],5.11-0.111:20100222T212623Z -> pkg://extra/web/firefox/plugin/[email protected],5.11-0.111:20100708T214248Z pkg://opensolaris.org/developer/opensolaris/[email protected],5.11-0.143:20100706T040218Z -> pkg://on-nightly/developer/opensolaris/[email protected],5.11-0.146:20100803T000233Z That doesn't look nearly correct enough. Where are all the other updates from on-nightly that should be applied? If I try to install my new beadm package from on-nightly I get: [1] r...@praetorian> pkg -R /a install -v install/beadm Creating Plan /Planning for install failed: pkg: No matching version of install/beadm can be installed: pkg://on-nightly/install/[email protected],5.11-0.146:20100803T000245Z: This version is excluded by installed incorporation pkg://opensolaris.org/consolidation/install/[email protected],5.11-0.143:20100706T015509Z Now, this doesn't make any sense. Yes, beadm is listed in the install-incorporation in build 143. But, that was removed in build 144 which ipkg.sfbay/dev knows about (which is my configured opensolaris.org publisher). Also, why was this working, then didn't, then worked and now doesn't? What else can I do to figure this out. I'm pretty near certain that my changes aren't the problem but I'd like to know what the problem is before I push them. Odd that this was working for quite a while (some weeks) and just started not working last thursday (modulo the success I had yesterday). Thanks for any help/suggestions.
