I see no reason to not run the SDC-Pod in both sites, only one will actually process the distribution as it uses a lock in mariadb. Also it would cause you some down time if you cannot process new models that are being distributed. It seems odd to leave it out, as it is no more work for you here. I think the biggest challenge you will have is the configuration of Mariadb to support Camunda across two sites.

If we exclude the use case of failure during the in-flight request, do you think this will be sufficient for SO HA deployment or we need to consider something else too ? or if there is any other clustering solution you are aware of ?
