Considering the prospect of free publicity in the near future, I'd like to suggest a few things to improve the public face of OGP before a bunch of people make first impressions:
-move the wiki to opengraphicsproject.org, to give it a more authoritative feel - this should be technically possible without significant disruption -use a more usable default theme - I vote for this clone of monobook (http://themes.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Tikipedia), because I dislike both fixed and three column layouts -Add some static links on the left to a few important pages on the wiki, for easier navigation, and let those pages serve as the top level of the site's hierarchy. Currently not even the home link is useful. I would suggest About, FAQ, Newsletters, Development, and Community. There is some overlap between community and development (we want a development community, after all), but some things are community related while not being strictly development (the wiki, lists, etc.). -try to replace any TikiWiki branding (like the favicon) on the wiki with OGP's own, if possible, for distinctiveness Please respond with comments. _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
