I don't much care, but I'm a very occasional user at this point. I defer to those who are most active. There's one thing I really like about git: they use digital signatures on changes. From what I've heard, even a major security breach won't let a hacker secretely inject code changes. There is no one "master" repository. The distributed nature of the "repository" combined with digital signatures means that hack attempts can be instantly detected. If someone hacked into the source server undetected and changed the SVN database, we'd never know it.
