It happens when I browse http://123.45.67.89:8080/appdir/ and then
browse http://www.mydomain.com/, or vice versa. (In the later url, the
/appdir, IP and port are all inside the proxy setups, so no subdir there)
When it happens, I run shutdown.sh AND then search for active java
processes to explicity kill. Sometimes they're there, but not always.
You probably have a point with latent connections - at least when it
comes to getting the thing restarted. I have to wait a minute between
"kill" and "startup" to get it running without a 503 again.
