Bummer. That seems to complicate any attempt at log maintenance via CFML.
Is there a way I could invoke the [make_new_file_get_handle] object(s)
directly while it's running?

you need to restart the engine. it has a handle to the open file.

The log file WEB-INF/bluedragon/work/cfmail/mail.log was up to 11MB
(it logs every send)
So I renamed it to mail_20150315.bak
I assumed that OpenBD would automatically create a new mail.log file,
but it hasn't yet.
I've even had it fire off 2 or 3 emails for me. Nothing. So I created
one myself, and gave it to tomcat6 as 777. It remains at zero bytes.
Am I missing something? Do I have to cycle the whole container just
to get a new log file??
