A few more observations. I experienced the same issue with another GIF, but
this time I didn't have to remove the ColorSync profile to get it to
display properly. I have attached an amended version of the example code to
reflect this issue.

Finally I have attached a partial screenshot of what I have been seeing in
the latest version of Chrome for Mac (Version 42.0.2311.90 (64-bit) at the
time of this writing) using the built in Chrome PDF engine.
