G'day all,

I'm now trying to get sound to work on my home 3.9 amd64 box. Im
following FAQ part 13.1 I've looked at the dmesg and it appears to
show a recognised audio chip

auich0 at pci0 dev 4 function 0 "NVIDIA nForce4 AC97" rev 0xa2: irq 5,
nForce4 AC97
ac97: codec id 0x414c4790 (Avance Logic ALC850)
audio0 at auich0

I followed on with the mixerctl instructions and have turned 'off' all
the muted channels so I end up with mixerctl -a;

outputs.master=207,207
outputs.master.mute=off
outputs.mono=255
outputs.mono.mute=off
outputs.mono.source=mixerout
outputs.headphones=255,255
outputs.headphones.mute=off
outputs.bass=255
outputs.treble=255

[snip'd all input and record]

outputs.loudness=off
outputs.spatial=off
outputs.spatial.center=0
outputs.spatial.depth=0
outputs.surround=255,255
outputs.surround.mute=off
outputs.center=255
outputs.center.mute=off
outputs.lfe=255
outputs.lfe.mute=off
outputs.extamp=off

I've tried $ cat big_file > /dev/audio and made sure the speakers all
plugged in and working on another machine, but im abit stuck as to
where to go from here. I've had a look in mixctl(1) and ac97(4) but
nothing seems to stand out, and google dosent seem to present anything
useful other then the Openbsd FAQ. If its any use, mplayer can't seem
to get the sound outputted properly either. Any insights or ideas
would be great.

Thanks

Kim
