I figured there probably had been. But I didn't want to go to the trouble of upgrading a running system (that provides services others use) just so I can immediately trash it (literally) in favor of it's replacement. I had hoped I wouldn't even need to touch the old system to set up the new; the only reason I do is because I need something that can write the correct filesystem type. I was honestly surprised the old box even _had_ a USB port. I'll be installing a current system on the new Soekris box. I just rarely upgrade my firewall unless there is a specific reason to do so. (And there hasn't been, for my use.) At the moment I've got a way to write the card, so all I need to do is figure out how to configure a console-only box without a console, (current plan: set up a configuration on the card before installing it and using it to boot, that lets me finish configuration over ssh) and I'm good. ;) Daniel T.
