it takes some time but I will answer the question as well as possible. There will be more than one mail.

But when I use Netscape, nothing hapens when I click on "Approve and Sing Request".Which libraries or applications should I install in my operational system to make it work? I am using Conectiva 9.0, apache 2.0.45, postgresql 7.3.2. I have already installed the libraries: perl-crypt-des, perl-crypt-passwd, perl-crypt-ssleay and perl-io-socket-ssl.
Which browser do you use with your Linux system?
OK, I have only ever got Netscape 4.7* working with signing. I am sure Michael uses Mozilla, but I stuck with netscape 4.79 (old but I know it works).
If you look at the list archives there have been discussions in the past about using other browsers. I know there were problems with later versions of Netscape and Mozilla as they changed the way the browsers handled certificates and signing.
To make it short Netscape 7 doesn't work. Now the long version. The Mozilla project removes the support for the Javascript object crypto of Netscape. There is a patch available which fixes the problem but the developer team doesn't commit the patch to the release branch without any comments. The first patch was created more than one year ago :(
We experiment with WaMCom and some people have good results. The last WaMCom is based on Mozilla 1.3.1 and so it is a little bit outdated.
