Hello all, I am new to openCA and I have a very general question that may sound stupid. I set up a Root CA on one machine and a RA/pub on another machine. Now, I want to install some sub-CAs on the Root CA's machine. I would like to know if it is possible to run and manage (possibly on the same interface) one Root CA + several sub-CAs on a same machine without having to deal with separate installation for each CAs. Actually, what I like to achieve is to be able to select a CA's certificate depending on the client requesting the certificate from a single management point which is usefull if you want to isolate clients and add client areas easily: client A -> signed with sub-CA A's certificate client B -> signed with sub-CA B's certificate
PKIs like TinyCA seems to handle this all-in-one type of installation but do not have advanced features as openCA does. Another thing that is worrying me is that it seems that I have to install a separate RA for each sub-CA that I create whereas I'd like to manage all requests from a single RA/pub interface. I really need some explanations on sub-CA stuff ;) Thank you Pierre ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
