thanks for the assistance.
It seems as if I've tweaked something and now it is working.
It is an old machine with only 32 MB of RAM.
When I reduced the number of children to 1, all started working fine.
As it is a low volume server inside a small office, this is not a problem.
Is the problem repeatable, if you set the "Max Children" anything above 1 in /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf?
