I have no idea what is going on. The RPMS you have are from my Linux and works ok. The only difference is that I did not polute my /usr/local/dx/ with samples. I have samples installed somewhere else in dxsamples and have DXMACROS set in my /etc/bashrc
export DXMACROS=/<somewhere>/dxsamples/macros The dxsamples directory also contains the java macros you mentioned. The problem I mentioned in my previous messages was relating to Windows. I am working on a DX work properly with MOTIF under Windows. It refuses to acknowledge DXMACROS, there is no JAVA. It also gives the following error StartDXLChild: cannot connect using dx.
