@Eric - It doesn't make sense to me to have a chart of accounts for each year. If you adjust the previous year, you would have to adjust the current year also, since it would affect your retained earnings. I am thinking that for some companies who are transitioning to IFRS, they might want to maintain 2 chart of accounts temporarily, since they might have to report both accounting methods during the transition. But I don't think you should ever have an entry from one chart of accounts to the other.
