Hi, I have created a 33.91GB (full disc) partition and also limited to 7.97GB just to test different sizes. But still no go. I do not know how to use the dd command.
Today I will receive an external enclosure (HP MSA20) with 4*500GB hdd and a HP SA-6402 raid controller. Hopefully this will work. Depending on how proficient you are at the command line, you might want to try wiping out the partition table on the disks you're using for data. Just do a dd on the first few blocks (and last few blocks in case it's already gpt) of the data disks to get rid of partition metadata. Then go back to the physical device management UI and see whether you can partition again and create volume groups. Needless to say, you don't want to be running dd on a device that contains any valuable data.
