I'm trying to rebuild my openfiler box, I run through the install procedure (OF 2.2 CD) and partition the HD manually with the boot partition marked as primary. The following root & swap are just defined & formatted (using 2x XFS + swap), the remaining space (approx 55GB) is left empty.

I update OF first via conary the login via the web ui and go to Physical Storage Management page and it shows the three allocated partitions and one in the 'Create a partition' section, unfortunately I can't create anything as it's shown as 'in use'

It shows in use because there are partitions on the disk which are being used (your /, /boot,swap). That "Reset" function applies to the entire disk rather than a single partition. And what it does is wipe the partition table clean. The fact that you're not allowed to do that, means it's working as intended.

in the reset column. Obviously if I hit the create button, id doesn't. :(
OK, this is a different issue.
Anyone seen this before or can duplicate it? Is it a bug?
It's a bug. Thanks for spotting and reporting.

Something about the parted update to 1.7.1 is not sitting well with the code. I'm looking into it now.

A quick workaround, increment the starting cylinder by about 10 until you're able to create a partition.

eg. increment by 10 and try, increment by 20, 30...

You can also update (downgrade) to the older parted

conary update parted=1.6.22

This looks like it's going to have to be the universal fix until OF 2.3 is out.

I'm recooking the group now to make 1.6.22 the default parted.
