We are seeing substantial increases in the implementation of open source practice management since the release of open source medical billing systems. As you know we wrote most of FreeB under contract to the Psyquel Project in San Antonio, TX. One of our contractors also wrote the REMITT Billing System, another medical billing system. There are now two open source medical billing systems available.
The availability of open source medical billing has increased the acceptability of open source practice management with EMRs.
FreeMED MA, Inc. was organized last year and offers help desk, technical support and software customizing and development for open health practice management systems. We have been operating profitably without any need for outside capital. We see an increase in request from all over the US. FreeMED National, Inc. will be providing national support services for the FreeMED Software Foundation system.
