OK, I think I found a driver bug now (minor, but still...) I do not know what the aboive mdebus call fully does but it causes the card to be "ejected", which is in general fine. But the eth0 interface still remains to exist, which causes all kinds of nasty things to happen, e.g. r...@om-gta02:/sys# iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. usb0 no wireless extensions. Segmentation fault Which is pretty clear since iwconfig tries to query a non existent device. ifconfig eth0 also still shows the (non existent) interface.
