Gang: Back in 2005 Sasa Markovic decided to stop working on JRobin and gave us the copyright; since OpenNMS was one of the main users, if not the main user, of the code. I was a little hesitant to do it because I knew we didn't have the resources to continue to develop JRobin, but I knew we would also keep the library alive.
In 2006 there was a fork of JRobin called rrd4j. Both projects languished for many years, but lately both have seen an uptick in activity. I've been talking with the rrd4J team in France and there is a discussion about merging the two projects. Part of that discussion involves changing the license to be Apache 2.0 from the current LGPLv3. I really don't see a problem with it from the OpenNMS side, but I wanted to solicit feedback to see if anyone had a reasonable objection for changing the license. -T -- Tarus BALOG, Maintainer Main: +1 919 533 0160 The OpenNMS Group, Inc.
