I think it's the other way around. When "-b" is read a bluetooth discovery is invoked. In your case channel 6 is determined to be the right one (i.e. OBEX file transfer). When "-B" is read the channel is overriden. That means the failed connect used channel 8 alright.

Incidentally I use a SE K750i too. The channel is 6. Is your example simplified? Do you really want to use OBEX IrMC Sync Server?
