Hi Graham,
If the device is visible then "obexftp -b -l" should do. The channel is
specific to the manufacturer and sometimes the model of the device, not
the host, distro or program.
You can get detailed info by browsing the SDP records of your device
(sdptool browse aa:dd:rr:ee:ss).
There is nothing bad someone can do with your bluetooth address as far
as I know. But it's a global unique identifier, so you might want to
keep it private anyway.
