Hello everyone, Does anyone have a working FBX loader for OpenSG, or plan on developing one in the upcoming months?
We've been struggling yet again to export 3dsMax models into OpenSG. MaxConnect isn't getting parts of the geometry right, while other exporters don't get the materials right. MaxConnect hasn't been maintained for a while and we don't have any other native OpenSG exporter for 3dsMax. However, since the advent of FBX and its free SDK, it seems pointless to maintain a 3dsMax exporter. Maintaining an FBX loader seems a much better investment -- even better than a Collada loader, since (correct me if I'm wrong) FBX is faster, simpler, and has great exporters for 3dsMax and Maya. And it's also supported by Blender and Google SketchUp...
