The backup/restore feature allows many interesting end-user scenarios, a ZIL is not one of them. A ZIL requires a properly sized UPS (dedicated is preferred). The DDRdrive X1 uses 5W when the host loses power, intentionally or not, and a UPS is easily chosen to cover a worst case power recovery time.
