Dragan> Actually, the best interface would be the good old

Dragan> gmane.org, but that one is read only.

Here's the story with gmane. Currently there are 2 ways to post: either
using the web fora, or via mailman. Registration is required either
way. This was done to cut down on spam. So when we started getting
notices from gmane about archiving opensolaris lists, I asked them to
make the lists read-only.

If we enable posting via netnews, I think that posts will be rejected by
opensolaris.org unless you're registered with mailman. I thought this
might cause too much confusion for people who come to OpenSolaris
through gmane. I could be wrong on that, but I'd like to see some
suggestions for how to handle this issue.

I agree that the traffic on the opensolaris lists is hard to keep up
with. (I have over 1700 unread messages, plus several hundred more that
I've glanced at and would like to take a second look at. gnus is my
friend.)

A lot of the traffic is in opensolaris-discuss. Would it make sense to
try to move some of the traffic to topic-specific lists?
