When this happens adoption will become higher. Think of all the collage
students who would like to use OpenSolaris but managing it is just to expensive
(time). Get the collage/high school students and you get the next generation of
business owners.
There is a large effort inside Sun now working on improving
Solaris "approachability" (also known as the "Keep It Simple,
Solaris" project), both to make it more user friendly and more
familiar to users of other OS'es. There was a discussion on
creating an approachability community on opensolaris.org for
this work as well, but I didn't see if that happened or not.
