Pete of course means "ON", not "Solaris" - Studio 11 works fine with
other parts of Solaris. For instance, when the X consolidation is
released later this month, your choices for building it will be either
Studio 10 (with newer patches than ON uses unfortunately) or Studio 11.
gcc will not be an option. (There's no reason it couldn't work, just
no resources available to make our Makefile/Imakefile CFLAGS compatible
with gcc.)
