I hope by that by that you don't mean actually doing a `cp` of the driver. One should never modify the system in such a way; if the software is not packaged, it should never come onto the system. Anything that's "installed" on the system without using the SW management subsystem (i.e. `pkgadd` and friends) immediately violates system's integrity, and should be avoided at all costs.
