The version that I use is the regular cdrecord from Jörg's site. Nothing special. But I do have a DVD Key that Jörg gave to me years ago. > > Dennis Clarke wrote: > >> This is what I use and it is up to date as of a few days ago : >> >> bash-3.1# cdrecord --version >> Cdrecord-ProDVD-Clone 2.01.01a11 (i386-pc-solaris2.11) Copyright (C) >> 1995-2006 Jörg Schilling >> >> >> It seems to have support for nearly everything. Yes, I also use star as a replacement for tar or cpio. Wow. How much data does it take? > I have a few different types of pocket sized 80mm DVD media. The one that I use as my standard is a SONY dual sided DVD-RW which is rated at 2.8GB in total with 1.4GB per side. I also have Verbatim DVD-RW and Maxell DVD-R all at 1.4GB. These are nice small media that can hold all of Solaris 10 Update 2 on two of dual sided disks. When I was at the LinuxWorld show in Toronto I carried in Solaris on a 80mm DVD and asked the hardware vendors to "boot this" as a test. Most of them were surprised to see an 80mm bootable DVD. They were not happy that it was not Linux. Too bad for them. -- Dennis Clarke _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
