Hi,
I have linux box with Fedora Core 5.
I want to install OpenSolaris and from the download page, it says

If you choose to install from pre-built archives, you will need:
A system installed with a suitable OpenSolaris distribution, which at this time
is limited to Solaris Express: Community Release

I am puzzled, to install OpenSolaris needs OpenSolaris running?
Can't I just pop in the DVD and auto boot with CD and start installing?
If not, how can I install OpenSolaris into my hardisk which does not run
OpenSolaris?
Thank you.

Jerry -- My money says you're under the impression that there is One True
OpenSolaris Distro, which is sort of not really the case. In reality there
are five[1]. So if you're new to Solaris/OpenSolaris, and want to try it
out, the first thing you should do is read the distros page IMO:
http://opensolaris.org/os/about/distributions/

1. On the other hand, of the 5, there is a "greater among equals"
distro -- Solaris Express -- because it's the one Sun engineers
focus most of their time/effort on (by far).
