Interesting. When I have trouble with my adsl link and call for help, my ISP 
always asks me first--is your modem a USB one. They will recommend an ethernet 
interface modem if I answer yes. Though I feel uncomfortable that the ADSL 
modem occupies my ethernet port, I have to yield to it to keep a stable link.
