Well, it hasn't behaved like this for the past +10 years that I've daily used less in Solaris. It also lessens the usability as the data you are looking to disappears, meaning that you have to open another terminal window to type commands in. _I_ have never seen any usage of the current behaviour, but the previous I use all the time. I thought less was to give more usability than more but now more gives more than less, more or less.
