Hi Natalie, Thanks again for helping. I really appreciate it.
This is a fresh install. I used this same steps in B84 and did not have this issue if that helps any. I followed the steps you gave above and here is the result. I am running 32 bit ver # isainfo i386 # ls -al smbs* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 421024 Mar 7 20:26 smbsrv -rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 976 Mar 7 12:00 smbsrv.conf contents of smbsrv.conf name="smbsrv" parent="pseudo"; rem_drv smbsrv returned to the prompt with no output (assume driver removed no problem). If I ran it again got driver already removed. # add_drv smbsrv devfsadm: driver failed to attach: smbsrv Warning: Driver (smbsrv) successfully added to system but failed to attach if I ran it again it said driver already attached. however now when I run svcadm enable smb/server i did not receive the "kernel bind error". In /var/adm/messages I see Mar 29 12:23:37 eon smbd[478]: [ID 138784 daemon.error] NIC monitor failed to initialize (No such file or directory) but it starts. However there is still no listener on 445 and after running sharemgr create -P smb shared sharemgr add-share -s /tmp -r tmp shared I get the error "Mar 29 12:24:48 eon smbd[478]: [ID 361018 daemon.error] smb_dwncall_share: init error" Feel free to Let me know what else I can provide.
