Must just be the oddball bits of hardware I've had, but I've usually had
much more success in getting Solaris to work (not just boot) than pretty
well anything else...

Well, it already has Solaris - and if you're serious about servers then that's
a pretty solid choice.

They're now going after (or at least, they think they're trying to go after)
developers as well; time will tell if they can produce a new platform that
can both do that and satisfy enterprise needs.
