I'm wondering whether there is just something wrong with the CD since so many tools are unavailable. So the .iso file downloaded originally worked successfully with VMware but I didn't use a physical CD. I actually burnt two different CDs using that .iso image; one at 40x speed and one at 4x speed when the first one didn't boot into the live CD GUI. Both CDs lead to the same result on the Acer PC :-( I guess I could try to install opensolaris on VMware again but this time using one of the physical CDs...? > Otherwise those which have "fs" in them. Most likely the mount of /usr failed or the /usr filesystem is badly damaged. So I'm confused how two burnt and validated CDs from a .iso which worked on VMware can be causing such a problem... any ideas?
