If by "real" Sun Studio you mean the "release" version, then yes, but you'll get a subpar experience with that version IMO.
There's really no reason I can think of to use that version of Sun Studio, and I think you'll agree "pfexec pkg install ss-dev" is a lot easier.
Currently, installing "ss-dev" will install Sun Studio Express 2009.03 on 111b systems (OpenSolaris 2009.06 systems).
