Hi all, I am new to this forum and I have a problem during the installation of the last build of Solaris Express DE on a Toshiba Satellite M40.
The cd boot and I am presented with a list of 4 choices regading which version of the system I want to install. Whichever I select the system hangs after a short time. Running the kernel in debug mode showed that the hanging happens when loading drivers for the sound card (pct1174). The sound card is in the HCL. The last build of Solaris 10 instead installs without a problem. So here are a couple of questions: 1)Is there anything I can do to prevent the system loading the drivers for the rebel device to complete the install and try to fix the problem? 2)Is there a way to upgrade from Solaris 10 to Express DE? This obviously could be a nice workaround, but the way it should be done looks truly esoteric to me. I am a solaris newbie so please be indulgent! :) Thx for your time.
