I don't know of specific opensuse policy on that subject. several ways exists:

* use the discussion page if your don't know for sure what is running * edit the page itself is you know definitively there is a mistake * add an "info" warning if you think this tip could be problematic. If you think it's reaaly dangerous, call for help here as you did :-)
