But it is a softmodem, not a plain modem. Those are "special", they need drivers. I've never used one of those (I hate them), so I can't be of much help if that's the case.

Does it means that the modem is not mounted?

Modems are never "mounted".

Compare the hwinfo above with mine for a real serial port modem:

The device file is listed there. I expected to see a similar entry on your's.

One last thing to try: dissconnect it, connect, and do:

ls -ltr /dev

This will list the last nodes created, and if there is a new one for your modem, you will see it. But being a softmodem, you will require more things to do, loading special drivers or something. I hope somebody else can tell you more. Search the wiki.
