Exactly that happened to me  a few times in the past, it totaly wrecked
my install, that's why i've gotten carefull with it.
But i must say, i don not know if this is still happening now.
These guys work hard to improve the app, so they deserve to get tested.
It is usefull, if one cannot uninstall a particular pkg, because of
endless lists of deps, smart just does the job...
