That's plainly wrong. The Live CD is supposed to and is tested to run fine also on real hardware. Unfortunately it seems that it does not on all. :-( Anyone who can help with information about his hardware and/or testing of eg the openSUSE 10.3/11.0 Live-CDs to track down this problem instead of just generalizing "doesn't work for anyone" is welcome.
